A tabletop dungeon crawl in digital form

Demeo is a cooperative RPG dungeon crawler from Resolution Games that recreates the feel of sitting around a table with friends. A dark force has taken over the underworld, and the party works together to vanquish it. The game is turn-based, played in 3D, with magic, dice, and miniatures at the center of the action. The story began in the Elven Necropolis with The Black Sarcophagus, then continued through the Realm of the Rat King and Roots of Evil, and the latest adventure, Reign of Madness, sends players into the town of Ends.

Playing together as a party

Demeo is built for up to four players cooperating online. Once the party has accepted a quest, everyone works together to survive, since the world is not meant to be tackled alone. Each player picks one of the available heroes: the hunter, sorcerer, assassin, guardian, bard, warlock, or the barbarian Uhrak, introduced with Reign of Madness. Every character has their own abilities and their own way of handling magic and monsters, so the group needs to combine those strengths to get through encounters. Turn-based combat means the party can talk through each move, plan treasure hunts, and coordinate tactics between turns.

Before you start

Cross-play is supported across the whole ecosystem, so a party can form from players on Steam, PlayStation 5, PS VR2, Quest, Pico, and more. The PC Edition has native controller support and is optimized for Steam Deck, which also makes it easy to play with friends in the same room. The Heroes' Hangout social space is VR only; there players can meet, paint miniatures, play archery and arcade mini-games, listen to cassettes on the boombox, customize their avatar, and swap stories between quests.
