A crash-landing survival RPG with sass
Crashlands puts you in the boots of Flux Dabes, a galactic trucker stranded on planet Woanope after an alien named Hewgodooko derails your shipment. The game is a story-driven crafting action RPG played from a top-down view, and the writing leans hard into comedy. Your main job is to get your packages back, but along the way you get tangled in a plot to take over the planet. The world is large, with four sentient races and three continents to cross, and hundreds of quests waiting in both the main path and the side stories.
Playing together with a friend
A second player joins as Juicebox, a robot whose S.T.R.A.W. harvests resources and adds firepower in fights. Enemies will target Juicebox too, so the two of you share the danger rather than one person carrying the other. Juicebox has special moves of his own, which gives the pair some extra options in a tough fight. The Steam feature Remote Play Together is listed for this game, so a friend can join your session that way.
Crafting, combat, and base building
Progress comes from making better items rather than leveling up in the usual sense. The crafting system holds over 500 items, and the gear you build is what makes you strong enough to reach new regions. Combat is skill-based: you learn enemy attack patterns and dodge, with craftable gadgets that can set enemies on fire, stun them, or slow down time. The inventory is infinite and manages itself, pulling out the right tool when you need it, so you never have to trek back to base to clear space. Base building is quick and loose, meant for putting up sprawling structures in minutes without fuss. Every creature can be tamed by finding its egg, incubating it, and hatching a combat companion you can then strengthen with crafted items.
Before you start
The game is tagged as singleplayer, with Juicebox as the co-op addition, so plan around that when you set up a session. Progress syncs through the cloud, and the same game exists on mobile, which means you can pick up where you left off on another device. Expect a long haul: the main delivery job sits alongside a large pile of side quests, and the world opens up as your gear improves rather than all at once.
