A survival adventure across strange islands
Tinkerlands drops you on mysterious islands where you gather resources, craft tools, and fight to stay alive. The world is a 2D pixel-art sandbox with a main island, three major islands, and lots of smaller ones, each with its own challenges, events, loot, and adventures. More islands are planned while the game is in Early Access. You build a settlement, invite NPCs who open shops and hand out quests and hints, and push forward by defeating over 10 challenging bosses to make powerful weapons — or odd items made just for fun. Fishing, farming, and cooking fill in the quieter moments between fights.
Playing with your group
You can go it alone or team up online with up to 4 players. A group splits the work naturally: some gather and craft, others explore and fight, and everyone contributes to the settlement. Sailing the seas together is part of the loop, so getting from island to island is a shared job rather than a solo trek. Bosses and island events give the crew something concrete to aim at together, and building a settlement gives you a home base to return to between expeditions. The co-op is online, so your group plays from their own setups rather than sharing a screen.
What to know before starting
This is an Early Access title, which means content is still being added — new islands are on the roadmap, and things can change as development continues. Expect a mix of systems rather than a single focus: survival and building sit alongside combat, crafting, strategy, and RPG progression. The tone is colorful and magical but the islands are genuinely dangerous, so early on you will spend time scraping together basic tools before you can take on bosses. If your group likes a game where everyone has a role — builder, explorer, fighter, farmer — and progress carries across a shared world, Tinkerlands fits that shape well.
