What Climbey is

Climbey is a VR-only climbing game where the aim is to reach the finish as fast as you can, dodging obstacles and trying not to fall on the way up. The climbing and jumping controls are physics-powered, so they are easy to pick up but hard to really get good at. There are 15 built-in intro levels to work through while you find your footing, and the game is still in Early Access.

Playing together

Online multiplayer runs with up to 10 people, and workshop levels are supported there too, so your group can race on the same custom maps. Racing your friends is the core of the social side: everyone climbs the same route and the clock decides who got up first. Falling is part of it, so expect the lead to change hands when someone slips.

Making your own levels

The level editor comes with full workshop support, which means you can build your own climbs and share them with other players. Custom skyboxes are supported as well, so you can set the backdrop to whatever you like. If your group wants a change of scenery or a nastier route than the built-in levels, this is how you get it.

Before you start

You need a VR setup to play at all, since Climbey is VR-only. Movement is vertical and fast, and the game includes optional comfort settings for people prone to motion sickness: floor dots, FOV reduction, and a spherical cage, among others. Turn those on early if you need them rather than finding out the hard way mid-climb.
