A shoot 'em up against the chicken uprising
Chicken Invaders 3 is an action-packed shoot 'em up from InterAction studios. The premise is simple and played straight: after centuries of being grilled, roasted, stewed and stuffed, the chickens have come for revenge. Intergalactic chickens invaded Earth, then pushed on through the solar system to make sure every planet was home to chickens only. You are the one who pushed back both times, and now it is time to put on the non-stick egg-repulsing helmet and fight again for humanity's ancestral right to omelettes.
Playing together with your group
The game supports Online Co-op, so you and your friends can team up and take on the chicken armada side by side. Remote Play Together is also available, which lets someone join in through a shared session. Either way, you are covering the screen together, clearing waves and keeping the invasion from reaching the next planet.
What to know before you start
Expect a straightforward arcade shooter in the casual, indie mould: you fly, you shoot, you survive the waves. The tone is silly rather than serious, and the whole thing is built around the running joke of poultry comeuppance. The real question the game keeps asking is whether the future of chicken burgers stays secure or whether you end up on the menu at a galactic chicken restaurant.
