The chickens strike back

Chicken Invaders 2: The Next Wave is the second chapter of the saga. In the first one you held off the chickens over Earth while they avenged the treatment of their earthly kin. Just as the last invaders were cleared and a double chicken burger seemed within reach, the real scale of the problem showed up: that first attack was only a warm-up for the main assault. The plan is now plain — take over every planet in the solar system and leave them inhabited by chickens alone. You pull on the egg-repulsing helmet and work your way from planet to planet, shooting through wave after wave to save the world again.

How a group plays it together

This is a shoot 'em up built around one ship blasting through dense formations of chickens, so the core loop is simple: fly, dodge, fire, survive. The game supports Remote Play Together, which means friends who own it can join your session over the internet and play along with you from their own machines, sharing the same run instead of watching. That makes it a good pick for a Discord group that wants something quick to jump into — one person launches, the rest tag along, and you all react to the same screen full of eggs and feathers.

Before you start

A few options are worth knowing about. The soundtrack comes in two versions: the original chiptune tracks and a remastered orchestral arrangement, and you can pick between them. Controls cover both analogue sticks and D-pad joysticks with unified support, and mouse buttons can be reassigned, so you can set the layout to whatever feels right before the first wave hits. Expect a straightforward arcade structure — you progress through the solar system one planet at a time, and the difficulty comes from how crowded and patterned the chicken attacks get rather than from any complicated systems to learn.
