A side-scrolling space shooter built for destruction

Jets'n'Guns 2 is a 2D side-scrolling shooter where you fly through galaxies tearing apart space stations and whole cities. An unknown entity from another dimension has entered our reality and is trying to wipe out all sentient life, and the inhabited planets are too divided to act. You take the role of an elite space pilot and head out alone against overwhelming odds. The campaign keeps handing you new weapons as you progress, alongside equipment with bizarre effects that support nontraditional play styles. Expect constant action, heavy bullet-hell sequences, and a difficulty tagged as difficult. A new soundtrack from Machinae Supremacy plays behind it all.

Playing together as a group

The game has local co-op support, so two pilots can sit at the same screen and fly through the campaign together. Steam also lists Remote Play Together, which lets friends join your local session over the network. Either way, the shared experience is the same side-scrolling run: both of you push through the same levels, split the incoming fire, and combine your firepower against the enemies and bosses in your path. Coordination matters here, since the screen fills with bullets quickly and the difficulty keeps climbing.

What to know before starting

The game runs an endlessly repeating loop of gameplay with ever-increasing difficulty, so expect to replay and push your limits rather than finish in one sitting. The arsenal grows as you move through the campaign, which means your ship changes over time and early runs will feel different from later ones. The violent, bullet-hell nature of the action and the difficult tag are worth keeping in mind before you commit to a long session with friends.
