A fast LAN arena shooter

CAGE is a first-person arena shooter built around speed and vertical movement. The "tether" gives you unusual freedom to move through all three dimensions, so fights stay fast and explosive. The game runs on a Local Area Network only and has no online functionality, which means everyone needs to be connected to the same router to play together. It is a passion project from KorteGames, made to bring back the LAN party, and it is completely free to play with no microtransactions.

Playing together

Get everyone onto the same router, start CAGE, and set up a match over the LAN. The game ships with 4 maps: ThreeTowers, Stalks, Port, and Struct. Pick from 3 game modes: Deathmatch, KeepAway, and King of the (moving) Hill. Across those modes you have 9 weapons to choose from, so each round can play out differently depending on what you pick up.

Before you start

The one thing to sort out first is the network. CAGE has no online play, so a group spread across different routers or connections cannot join the same match. Everyone has to be on the same local network. Once that is in place, the rest is straightforward: choose a map, choose a mode, and get moving.
