A 2D fighter with a visual novel side

BlazBlue: Chronophantasma Extend is the sixth game in the BlazBlue series. It mixes fast 2D fighting with visual novel storytelling. You pick from 28 playable characters, including the new additions Celica and Λ-11-. The fights use the Drive Button system for flashy moves, an Overdrive mechanic to boost your skills mid-match, and a revamped Guard system. When your opponent's Barrier Gauge runs low, you can hit them with a Guard Crush to shatter their defense. If you are new to fighting games, Stylish Mode handles the hard inputs for you with Auto Guard, Combo Attacks, Special Abilities, and Distortion Drive, so you can pull off advanced combos without the usual practice.

Playing together

The game supports Online PvP and Remote Play Together, so you can fight friends over the network or share a screen. There is also local multiplayer for people in the same room. The My Room system gives you a space to talk with other players, decorate with wall and furniture items, and take part in Team Match, where you fight alongside others. For players who liked the older balance, CP mode lets you play VS, Training, and Player match with the previous rules, though Celica and Lambda are not usable there.

Story and extras

Story Mode covers new scenarios along with digest versions of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger and BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, so both newcomers and returning players can follow the plot. Remix Heart is a separate comedic story mode about Mai Natsume and Kajun Faycott, two high school girls, with Noel, Tsubaki, and Makoto from the main scenario. There are also 8 gag scenarios for a break from fighting. The package includes extra system voices for Mai and Kajun, My Room item packs A through D with posters and Blue Radio mats for 28 characters, 8-bit avatars from XBLAZE Lost Memories, and a digital soundtrack with 12 tracks. Celica also brings her own stage, Ishana, the land of memories.
