Music Drives Every Fight
Beat Hazard 2 is a top-down arcade shooter where your own music collection sets the pace. Each song has its own unique ebb and flow, so the action rises and falls with the track. Power up your spaceship and watch the music boost your firepower, then unleash hell on enemy ships when you max out with weapon pickups. The game is built around music-based procedural generation, which means every track you play creates a unique player ship, anything from a tiny 'Mosquito' ship to a huge 'Brute' battle ship. Each track also creates a unique procedurally generated boss ship, your own archenemy to vanquish.
Playing Together
Beat Hazard 2 carries the Co-op and PvP tags, and it supports Remote Play Together, so friends can join in from their own setups. Ships created from a track are consistent across players, so if you discover an awesome ship you can tell your friends so they can unlock it too. That gives the group something concrete to chase and compare as you work through the same songs.
Before You Start
The game reads your music through an 'Open Mic' system that can listen in to any music source, so premium streaming services work: Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, YouTube, or any other provider. Expect a psychedelic, colorful, bullet-hell style of shoot 'em up that leans on rhythm and space themes, with a relaxing side to the zen feeling of battling to your own music. The tags cover both casual play and heavier arcade action, so the intensity will track whatever you put on.
