Dodge shapes to the beat
Just Shapes & Beats is a musical bullet-hell where the screen fills with shapes that you have to avoid while the music drives everything. You move, dodge, and survive as the patterns sync up with the soundtrack. You will die often, and that is part of the loop: learn the track, read the shapes, and try again. The game is a fresh take on the SHMUP genre with cooperation at its core.
Play with your group
You can play alone or with up to four players, local or online, with drop-in drop-out support. Run through Story Mode together on the couch or online, or jump into quick online challenge runs where the game pairs you with other players. Story Mode is the place to learn the ropes, with intermediate tracks and an optional Casual mode. Challenge Runs throw randomly picked tracks at you and judge your skills. Party Mode lets the game play through its stages as music for a gathering, and people can jump into those party stages while it runs.
What to know before starting
There are 48 hand crafted stages with licensed tracks from over 20 chiptune and EDM artists. If a track is giving you trouble, the Playlist lets you practice it on its own until you can master it. Expect a fast-paced, difficult experience where the shapes and the music are the whole game.
