What Barro T23 is
Barro T23 is the new generation of Barro, built around the same toy car and go kart arcade driving the series is known for, with a new style of race tracks. It sits in the casual, indie and racing space rather than aiming for realistic simulation, so the handling stays loose and forgiving and the focus is on getting around the track quickly. The game includes 2 types of trucks and 21 new race tracks to work through, and it supports a time attack mode where you chase your own best times.
Playing together
The game runs up to 4 players in local split screen, so a group can race on one screen at once. The grid holds up to 10 cars, which means the field stays busy even when only some seats are filled by people in the room. Remote Play Together is also listed as a Steam feature, which gives your group another way to join in from their own machines. Alongside the multiplayer racing, there is a single player mode for when you want to drive on your own.
Time trial and what to know before starting
The improved time trial is worth knowing about before you commit to a session. It keeps a leaderboard lap by lap, so you can fight for your position in real time rather than only seeing a final result once the run is over. That makes short repeat runs on the same track the main loop: set a lap, watch where you stand, go again. Expect a cartoony look and an arcade feel rather than a serious driving sim, and expect the track list to be the thing that keeps you coming back across sessions.
