What Barro GT is
Barro GT is the new generation of Barro, built around the same toy car and go kart arcade style the series is known for. The GT version drops the jumping from the normal version and instead focuses on a new style of race tracks. You get 26 types of cars and 21 new race tracks to work through, with a single player mode when you just want to drive on your own. Races can start with up to 20 cars on the grid, so a field can fill out even when most of the grid is not your friends.
Playing together
The main way a group shares a session is up to 4 players in local split screen, all on the same screen. That covers both competitive racing and local co-op play, so you can run against each other or split the driving between you. Remote Play Together is also supported, which lets people join in over a connection rather than needing to be in the same room. The grid supports up to 20 cars, so a full lobby can mix your group with the rest of the field.
Time trial and getting started
The time trial has been improved: lap-by-lap leaderboards let you fight for your position in real time, so you can see where you stand as each lap goes by. Before you start, note that this is the GT version, so there is no jumping here — the tracks are the new style, and the handling stays in the arcade toy car vein. Pick a car from the 26 available types, choose one of the 21 tracks, and get a feel for the driving before you chase leaderboard times.
