What Ultimate Racing 2D 2 is

Ultimate Racing 2D 2 is a top-down racing game from Applimazing, built around a huge spread of machinery and circuits. It ships with 44 racing classes and more than 100 tracks, so you can move between very different kinds of cars rather than sticking to one series. Races can be run with damage on, with penalties applied, and with multi-class fields where different classes share the same grid. Tyre choice matters too: medium and intermediate tyres are available, and there is a recharging power boost to spend during a race. Grids can be set up custom, and lap records let you see how your times stack up.

Playing together

Your group has several ways to race each other. Online multiplayer supports up to 20 players and is cross-platform, so friends on different setups can join the same session. Locally, up to 8 players can race on one machine, and the game supports split screen and controllers. Beyond racing head to head, there is a manager mode, custom championships, quick race mode, and time-trial with leaderboards and ghost laps for chasing each other's times without sharing a grid.

Modes and creation tools

Career play comes in three flavours: season mode, event mode and coin mode, with an improved career built on a class tier system and car upgrades. If you want to build rather than just drive, the car editor and track editor let you design your own vehicles and circuits, and custom liveries let you put your own paint on them. Timed races and the new settings round out the options.

Before you start

Expect a lot of content to sort through: 44 classes and 100+ tracks means the early job is finding which classes your group actually enjoys racing. Decide as a group whether you want clean racing with penalties and damage enabled or a looser arcade session, since both damage and penalties are configurable. If some friends are on different platforms, the cross-platform online multiplayer is what lets you all race together; local players share one machine up to 8.
