What you're cleaning up

Backrooms Cleanup Crew puts you to work for F-Corp as a cleaner sent into the Backrooms after other corporations made a mess of things. The job is simple on paper: scrub every wall, pick up every loose object, bin it, and get out. The rooms are given, the mess is given, and the timer pressure builds as you work through them. It is a first-person cleaning sim with physics thrown in, so you can grab items and fling them across the room instead of carrying each one carefully. Throwing is faster, and speed is what matters.

The game ships with 24 playable levels, and running through all the unique content takes around 5 hours on average. It's in Early Access, developed by a two-person team, and they actively want feedback from crews playing it.

Playing with your crew

This is an online co-op game for you and up to 3 friends, so a group of four splits the work across a level and knocks it out together. Everyone has a nozzle to swap between, and different nozzles suit different cleaning jobs, so you can pick what fits the surface in front of you while someone else handles the object collection. Because you can throw items instead of carrying them, a crew can set up quick routes of tossing junk toward a bin rather than doing it one at a time.

There are three ways to play: Normal, Hard, and Peaceful. Normal is the mode described above, Hard tightens things up, and Peaceful is there if your group just wants to scrub rooms without the pressure. Pick whichever fits your crew's mood for the night.

Incursions while you work

Cleaning is only half the job. Deadly Incursions show up during levels and get worse as you go, so you're dodging attacks while still trying to finish the room. Glowing markings appear in the level, and cleaning them off prevents new attacks from starting, but you have to get close to them while things are happening around you. Clearing those markings also gives you power that makes your cleaning faster, which creates a loop: deal with the markings, get faster, finish the room before the next wave.

Come in expecting a mix of relaxed scrubbing and sudden pressure. Your crew will spend most of the level working steadily, then have a few minutes where someone has to break off and handle markings while the rest keep cleaning. Coordination is what makes it click.
