A shared world where your code does the work

Adventure Land is an open-source indie MMORPG where you control up to 4 characters at once. You can play manually, or write JavaScript so your party hunts, heals, travels, and trades on its own. There is a working default CODE to start with, and the Tutorial includes a JavaScript Crash Course, so no programming experience is needed. You edit in the built-in editor against a documented CODE API, change one line, and watch the result happen in the game. Your characters, items, and CODE stay with you with no seasonal wipes.

Playing together with friends

Everyone shares the same world, so your group can team up for cooperative bosses, try PvP, or settle into a farming spot side by side. Trade is player-to-player: your Merchant can run a stand while the rest of the party hunts, and something you don't need may be exactly what a friend is after. Different spots hold different finds, so splitting up to fish, mine, or hunt still pays off for the group. When a boss appears or a new craft catches your eye, check in, change plans, and go.

What to know before starting

Pick from Warrior, Paladin, Rogue, Ranger, Mage, Priest, or Merchant. There are no skill trees; characters grow through levels, equipment, upgrades, compounds, crafting, and learning their skills. A Priest keeps fighters alive, a Paladin protects the party, and a Merchant handles loot and sales. Each character can run its own script and talk to the others, so the real project is getting those pieces to work together. Optional extras include connecting a compatible AI through MCP to help write and test your JavaScript, and Mainframe hosting so your party keeps running when your computer is off. Steam owners get 250 included Mainframe hours shared across linked accounts; both AI and Mainframe are optional.
