A vertical shooter with a mystery at its core
ZeroRanger is a vertically scrolling 2D shoot'em up built around shooting, dodging and mystery. A menacing alien threat called GREEN ORANGE has begun its invasion, and only two secondary fighters remain against complete annihilation. Blast your way through enemy forces to unleash your fighter's latent potential, unlocking new weapons and abilities along the way. As you grow stronger, so does your understanding of the true nature of your adversary. The game runs on 8 distinct colours, including GREEN and ORANGE, 4 stages of enlightenment, and 1 endless cycle of life and death.
Playing together
ZeroRanger carries a Local Co-Op tag, so you can bring a friend in locally. Remote Play Together is also supported, which lets someone join over a connection rather than sitting at the same screen. Either way, you are working through the same stages of relentless action as a pair, splitting the pressure of the incoming fire between two fighters.
Before you start
This is tagged as a difficult, fast-paced bullet hell shoot 'em up, so expect dense patterns and quick reactions rather than a relaxed pace. It is tagged Singleplayer as well, so playing alone is a supported way to go through it. The story is flagged as story rich, so the shooting carries a narrative with it. For setup, there is TATE (screen rotation) if you want a vertical screen layout, scanline options, a colourblind mode, and unlockable extra palettes.
