A Cold War RTS set in Asia

Wargame: Red Dragon is a real-time strategy game from Eugen Systems that puts you in a large-scale conflict between Western forces and the Communist bloc. The year is 1991, and the two blocs meet in a new theater of war: Asia, joined by Japan, China, North Korea, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. You command the military resources of all 17 nations involved, building your fighting force from a selection of 1,450 units reproduced from their source. Tanks, planes, helicopters, warships and amphibious units all take the field, and the terrain matters: varied, realistic battlefields and new maritime areas shape how each fight plays out.

Playing together with your group

The game supports online co-op and online PvP, so your group can line up on the same side or split into opposing teams. Multiplayer supports up to 20 players competing at once, which means a full Discord group can field a large combined force or run a coordinated match against other players. Co-op lets you share the load across the front, with different people handling different parts of the battle in real time.

What to know before starting

Expect a demanding, tactical experience rather than a casual one: the game is tagged as difficult, realistic and military-focused, and it runs in real time, so decisions come fast. Battles take place across land and sea, so naval and amphibious units matter alongside tanks and aircraft. There is also a single-player mode with a dynamic campaign system if your group wants to play on their own schedule.
