What Untitled Ghost Game is

Untitled Ghost Game is a free 2D ghost hunting game from a small indie team. You play as a paranormal investigator working through creepy locations in a top-down view with pixel graphics. The maps include Mario's Cottage, Leonardo's Villa, Haunted Boardwalk, and the Spooky Mall, and they come with interactive items to poke at while you search.

Your job is to find the ghost and the ghost room, then watch how the ghost interacts with the environment, items, and hiding places. You carry a kit of tools for the job: an EMF reader, a Luigi board, a thermometer, a clock, a spirit box, a sketchbook, and a geiger counter. Each reading gives you a piece of the puzzle.

How your group plays it together

The game has online co-op, so you and your friends can hunt as a team. Split up the work: one person watches the EMF reader and thermometer, another talks through the spirit box, another sketches what they see, and someone keeps track of the clock and geiger counter. Sharing what each tool reports is how you narrow down what you're dealing with.

Once you've gathered enough information, the group makes an educated guess about the ghost type. After the guess is locked in, the exorcist comes in and takes care of the ghost. So the run has a clear shape: investigate, compare notes, commit to a call, then let the exorcist finish it.

Before you start

Ghosts are unpredictable and dangerous, so keep your wits about you once things get tense. The game leans dark and spooky, with atmospheric visuals, sound effects, and a soundtrack from Sodaguyz, which sets the mood more than any jump scare.

There's character customization to set up how you look, and the game is tagged as moddable and nonlinear, so runs can play out differently depending on how you approach them. It's PvE, so the ghost is the opposition rather than other players. Expect a casual entry point with enough depth in the equipment and deduction to keep a group busy across several maps.
