Hunting ghosts as a team
Ghost Exile is a cooperative horror game for 1 to 4 players. You enter a location, look for an otherworldly entity, work out what kind of ghost or demon you are dealing with, and then carry out a ritual of exorcism to send it away for good. The order matters: identify first, exorcise second. Guessing wrong and rushing the ritual can end badly for the whole team, so careful investigation beats quick conclusions.
In a full group everyone can take a role that suits them. One player installs equipment, another draws protective seals, a third handles extra tasks, and someone photographs evidence to push up the reward. You can also go in alone and do all of it yourself, if you prefer facing the entity without backup.
Talking to what is in the room
The ghost is not just scenery. It leaves hints that you are not welcome, and you can interact with it directly through a voice recognition system with multi-language support. If you have no microphone, a command system lets you issue the same interactions without speaking. Expect many kinds of jumpscares: how often they hit depends on the ghost's level of anger and on the type of entity you are facing.
Every ghost is unique, so learning to tell them apart is the core skill. There are 25+ pieces of primary and secondary equipment for detecting the ghost's type and for performing the exile, and 12 locations where you will meet the unknown. Study the entities you run into and you will start reading the signs faster.
Before you start
Ghost Exile is in Early Access, so content and systems can still change while you play. The game carries violent and gory material, and it is built around a PvE threat rather than other players. There are optional ways to raise the difficulty for a harder run, with a matching increase in reward, plus a character editor so you can make your own investigator look the way you want. Pick your difficulty, split the jobs across the team, and keep your conclusions grounded in the evidence you actually collected.
