What Ultra Fight Da ! Kyanta 2 is
Ultra Fight Da ! Kyanta 2 is a 2D team fighting game built around fast matches and simple controls. You assemble a team of hand-drawn characters and fight through several modes, including a story mode where people all over are being terrorised in strange ways by a mysterious man called Michelle. What he is actually after unfolds as you play. The game is in Early Access and is free to play.
Special attacks come out from a single button press, so you can throw out flashy moves without memorising long input strings. Combat moves at a high speed, and the roster has many diverse characters to pick from, so teams can be built around different play styles.
Playing it together
The game supports 1 or 2 players, so two of you can sit down and fight each other directly. Remote Play Together is listed as a Steam feature, which means one person can own the game and others can join in over the internet. Pick your teams, pick a mode, and start swinging.
The control scheme assumes Xbox 360 buttons: A is light attack, B is heavy attack, which becomes a throw when you are very close, X is special attack, and Y is ultra attack. Combos cover the rest — A+B for a throw, X+Y for an EX special, B+Y for a K Cancel, and Back for a taunt. Combination shortcuts are included, and every control, shortcuts included, can be remapped to whatever suits you.
Before you start
Press 2 on the keyboard at the boot screen while choosing your control method to switch to English menus and victory quotes. Otherwise the text stays in its original language.
Because it is Early Access, expect the game to still be in development. The tags include both funny and psychological horror alongside demons, so the tone mixes comedy with stranger, darker material. Read the control list once before your first match, since the throw and heavy attack share a button depending on distance, and the K Cancel is a mechanic worth understanding early.
