Trolddom at a glance
Trolddom is an old-school 2D fantasy open world MMORPG from Plant Based Games. You pick one of five classes — fighter, priest, sorcerer, paladin, or witch — and build your character through talent trees, with 150+ talents spread across the class roster. The world mixes handcrafted areas with generated ones, and every day Junjun the Portal Master opens a gateway to a world that has never been visited before. Along the way you'll fight monsters, work through 350+ quests, gather loot, manage your inventory, take on professions, and reach maximum level solo or with others. Gods and deities can be discovered, and showing allegiance to them earns rewards.
Playing together
Bring friends into the 8 instance dungeons to chase unique rare loot, or group up to push through quests. Guilds are part of the picture, and player trading plus auction houses give you ways to share what you find. PvP is optional, so you can take part when you want it and skip it when you don't — you won't be ganked. Online co-op and online PvP are both supported.
Before you start
Movement is grid-based and the view is top-down, which gives it a classic feel rather than a modern action-RPG one. The world is nonlinear, so you can wander and tackle content in your own order. If you'd rather play without an internet connection, there's an optional offline mode, and you can run your own custom servers. There is no pay-to-win: the price of the game is what you see on the tin.
