A survival sandbox with dungeons underneath

Delverium is a 2D pixel-art survival sandbox from Sagestone Games, currently in Early Access. You start in a vast procedurally generated world and set your own pace: gather resources, build shelters, tend a farm, recruit NPCs, craft food, tools, weapons, armor and building materials, or head into hidden caves and dangerous dungeons to mine ores, collect rare materials and unearth lost treasures. The land is infected by a great peril called the 'Faults', and uncovering lost fragments of lore about them is what drives the deeper story. Crafting includes nested recipes and an expandable player inventory, so your workshop grows alongside your settlement.

Playing together with your group

Delverium supports 1-8 players. You can play solo, use 4-player split screen on one screen, or join up to 8-player online co-op with Steam friends. Remote Play Together is also available, which lets a friend join your session over the internet. A group can split the work naturally: some players farm, fish and cook while others explore biomes, mine ores and push into dungeons, then come back to trade with the NPCs you have recruited. Since the world is procedurally generated, every group starts from a fresh map and decides together where to settle and how far to delve.

What to know before starting

This is Early Access from Sagestone Games, so expect the game to change as development continues. The world is open-ended rather than mission-based: there is no fixed path, and how much you engage with farming, base building, exploration or dungeon crawling is up to you. Combat and dungeon delving are described as high risk, so it pays to craft weapons and armor and build shelters before venturing far. The 'Faults' are the central mystery, and piecing together their lore is a long-term goal rather than something you finish early.
