Investigating haunted locations
The Other Side is a cooperative paranormal investigation game for one to six players. Each contract sends you into a haunted location to gather evidence, watch how the entity behaves, and work out what kind of ghost you are dealing with. Once the identification is done, the team moves on to cleansing: the Spectral Affixer uses the ghost's characteristics to reveal where its binding artifacts are hidden, and you have to find and destroy those artifacts to banish it. Locations vary in layout and environmental detail, and each one brings its own challenges for evidence gathering, ghost tracking, and contract objectives.
Working as a team
Proximity-based voice chat keeps the group in contact while you split up and cover more ground. You can share findings as they happen, coordinate movement, and react to events in real time. The spirit box even lets you talk to teammates who have already fallen. Everyone brings their own equipment into a contract, so the group can agree on a loadout before heading in and divide roles between the identify work and the cleanse work. Success comes down to using the right tools in the right place and passing information along clearly.
Progress and preparation
Contracts earn money, which goes toward customization for your character, your vehicle, and your headquarters. Apparel, hairstyles, and skin tones let you shape how your hunter looks, while the headquarters can be furnished and upgraded into a personal hub. A larger vehicle carries more items into an investigation, so upgrading it directly changes what you can bring on a job. As you play, more customization options open up across your loadout, character, and base. The game is built in Unreal Engine 5 and is currently in Early Access.
