Hunting the Spirit
Demonologist is a first-person co-op horror game from Clock Wizard Games. You enter cursed places, gather evidence with your equipment, work out which evil spirit is behind it, and then exorcise it. Every run brings random events and ghosts, so no two visits to a location play out the same way. The game is built with Unreal Engine 5 and covers a range of tags including Thriller, Detective, Mystery, Lovecraftian, Investigation, Demons, Psychological Horror, and Survival Horror.
Playing With Your Group
You can play alone or with up to 3 friends, for a team of 1 to 4. Online Co-op lets you split up across the location, cover more ground with your equipment, and compare what each of you picks up before committing to a spirit type. Talking to ghosts is part of the job, and the cursed places react to what you say — one word can open a secret door, so it pays to coordinate what your group speaks aloud.
Before You Start
Between runs you return to a safe house, which you can improve with the money you earn or replace with a new one. You can invite other people there, pick which paranormal place to head into next, and show off your achievements in a showcase. A pet can be bought to keep you company at home. Outside the hunts themselves, there are daily and weekly tasks, plus unique events and missions on special dates. Multiple maps and pieces of equipment give you room to change how you approach each investigation.
