Reclaiming Moria as a Dwarf

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is a survival crafting adventure set in the Fourth Age of Middle-earth. You answer Lord Gimli Lockbearer's call to the Misty Mountains and set out to reclaim Moria, the legendary home beneath the mountain. The work is hands-on: mine for resources, hunt and gather food, craft and loot armor, weapons and tools, and rebuild legendary forges to rediscover Dwarven smithing. Progress through the story by recovering long-lost landmarks of Khazad-dûm and restoring the ancient kingdom to its former glory. Along the way you uncover powerful enchantments, brew different kinds of ale, and find traces of the Fellowship.

Playing Together Online

You can journey on your own or call on friends, with online cooperative multiplayer supporting up to 8 players. A group splits the survival work naturally: some clear and shape new locations while others push deeper into the mines gathering materials, and everyone benefits from the bases and forges the team puts up. The realm is procedurally generated, so each session hands your group a different layout of resources, hidden secrets and dangers to deal with together. Combat against the Dark forces is shared, and glowing weapons are worth watching as a group signal that Orcs are close.

What to Know Before Starting

Survival systems run alongside the adventure. You need to conserve resources and keep an eye on sleep, temperature and noise levels, not just on enemies lurking in the shadows. Building is open-ended: reveal and clear locations to construct on a grand scale, either from scratch or by working into the existing environment. Character customization covers your Dwarf's look, beard styles included, and the game features epic voice acting that includes Khazdul. Expect a third-person action-adventure with PvE focus, base building and open world exploration rather than competitive play, and expect the procedurally generated depths to give no two adventures the same shape.
