A turn-based tactics game on hex maps

The Chronicles of Dragon Wing - Reborn is a PvP SRPG built around classic turn-based combat, where every move is worth thinking over. Battles take place on maps made of hexagon terrains, and the terrain matters: forest lets you dodge physical attacks, the Wind Rest Array gives you another move, and the Alchemy Array lets you draw a card. Reading the ground under your units is as much a part of the fight as the units themselves.

Heroes and skills are meant to be mixed. Each hero and each skill can react with others, so there are lots of combinations to build around. Equipment comes in three types — weapon, armor, and accessory — and you start out with gear that has useful functionality, gaining more as you progress. On top of skills and gear there are magical cards: more than 30 types, and the only cards other than skills. Good fortune may not decide a match on its own, but a magical card can change your situation when you need it to.

Playing together with friends

The game is set up for playing against other people online. Alongside the conventional 1V1 mode there is a 3V3 mode, so you can call your friends and take a match together rather than climbing alone. Because combat is turn-based, a group can talk through each turn — where to stand on the hex grid, which terrain to hold, when to spend a magical card — and treat the fight like a board game you plan out move by move.

Before you start

Story Mode levels are there to teach you the game and lead you into the myth of the Dragon Wing continent, so it is the sensible first stop before jumping into PvP. Expect a slower, deliberate pace: this is a tactics game where positioning on hex terrain, hero and skill interactions, equipment choices, and card draws all feed into the same decision. Go, hero — write your chapter.
