Puzzle battles with an army behind them

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes: Definitive Edition is a turn-based tactics game where battles play out on a grid. You arrange units into lines, and matching three or more of the same kind forms a combo that hits harder. The more combos you stack in a turn, the more damage you push through, so the fun comes from planning several moves ahead rather than reacting fast. Between fights you pick which units, artifacts and spells your hero carries, and every battle earns XP that levels up your hero and their attributes. Artifacts and hired mercenaries add more options as you go.

Playing together

The multiplayer mode runs 1v1 and 2v2, online or offline, against bots or other players. In 2v2 you and a teammate build synergy between your two armies and coordinate combos to break the enemy line. Steam features include Online Co-op, Online PvP and Remote Play Together, and the mode also supports local multiplayer. The Definitive Edition includes an expanded, reworked and re-balanced online mode, plus a ladder to climb. Fifteen heroes across five factions are available to pick from once you have mastered them.

Before you start

The story mode runs 20+ hours and follows five heroes scattered across five regions of Ashan, set 40 years before the Heroes of Might & Magic V saga. Each hero travels their own path, grows in strength and works to unravel a demonic plot. This Definitive Edition bundles in the I Am the Boss DLC, which lets you play as one of the game's four villains in any mode other than the campaign, and adds a multiplayer boss named Euny the Archdruid. It also brings refreshed character portraits and quality-of-life improvements over the original Capybara Games version.
