A patchwork world full of fabric foes
Stitchlings is a top-down action-adventure where you fight toy monsters and pick them apart for parts. Everything you take from a defeated enemy becomes something you can stitch onto your own character, so your look and your combat style keep changing as you go. The setting is The Workshop, described as a miniature yet spectacularly grand patchwork world, and the goal is to reclaim a world that was once yours. Along the way you face fabric foes and challenging bosses, so expect regular fights rather than long stretches of quiet exploration. It plays like a compact beat 'em up with hack-and-slash combat, and it's built to be family friendly.
Playing together on one screen
The game is made for same-screen co-op with a friend, and you can also play it solo. Two people share one screen and push through the adventure together, with the pitch framing it as a grand adventure to rekindle a fading world where all you have is each other. For getting a friend in without sitting at the same desk, Steam Remote Play Together is supported. Controller setups covered are two controllers or a keyboard-and-controller mix, so you can sort out who sits where before you start.
Building your Stitchling as you fight
Combat rewards you with parts, and those parts are the customization system. Enemies drop 5 unique trinkets that you can swap between to experiment with different playstyles, and there are 5 collectible cosmetic items that change your Stitchling's appearance and give stat bonuses. Because the pieces come from what you defeat, your character grows more distinct the further you get, and you can rebuild your setup whenever a new drop looks better than what you're wearing. Before starting, know that this is a short, focused co-op run rather than a long campaign, and that the fun comes from trying new trinket combinations and dressing up your Stitchling between fights.
