What Stilt Fella is

Stilt Fella is a physics-based arcade game about one thing: walking on stilts. You become the fella and try to stay upright while moving across obstacles that get in your way. The controls are intentionally awkward, so the challenge comes from fighting the physics rather than from memorizing complex inputs. Expect to wobble, tip over, and try again. The game is built around 60 levels of stilt walking challenges that increase in difficulty as you go, so the early levels ease you in and later ones push your balance and timing hard.

Playing it with friends

The game has a local hotseat multiplayer mode, which means you and your friends take turns on the same setup and compete against each other. That fits a group session well: one person has a go, everyone watches the attempt, then the next player steps up. There are also online leaderboards if you want to compare your runs against other players beyond your own group. Between rounds you can give your fella a look of your own with the character customization, which adds a bit of personality to the competition.

Before you start

The game is designed first and foremost for a gamepad, so a controller is the recommended way to play. Mouse and keyboard also work if that's what you have on hand. Keep in mind the difficulty is part of the point: the controls are deliberately awkward and the physics are unforgiving, so a few falls are normal rather than a sign you're doing something wrong. It works as a singleplayer game too, and the time attack and replay value tags suggest plenty of reason to keep rerunning levels to shave off time or clean up a messy attempt.
