A platform fighter from the Ludosity cast

Slap City is a 2D platform fighter built around a roster of characters from the Ludosity universe, each with a completely different playstyle. It aims for the depth platform fighter fans expect while staying easy to pick up if you're new to the genre. Alongside standard fighting, there's a single-player story campaign that takes you through the city with every main character, so there's something to do when your group isn't around. Replays can be saved, which is handy for keeping the moments worth showing off.

Playing together as a group

You can play with up to four players locally or online, with a variety of game modes, options, and computer controlled opponents to fill out the lobby. Online co-op and online PvP are both on the table, and Remote Play Together lets people join in from their own setup. If your group wants something with stakes, online 1 on 1 ranked battles let you play for points instead of just for fun.

Slap Ball, the team mode

Want a break from fighting? Try Slap Ball. It's a team-based mode where you slap the ball into the opponent's basket to score. The longer the ball stays juggled in the air without touching the ground, the more points it's worth, which is where the big plays and comebacks come from. Resting near your goal recovers some damage, and skipping that is a bad idea: each hit from the opponent will send you several laps around the court. The note in the store text is clear that there will be no breaks from fighting, so expect contact even while you're chasing the ball.

Clutch Technology and things to know

Clutch Technology is the game's own addition to platform fighting: a button that Does Things. Try it out and see what it does for you. The game is in Early Access, so expect things to still be settling. It's tagged as funny and meme-heavy, and the soundtrack gets its own tag, so the tone is loose even when the matches get competitive.
