A Kung Fu Film Love Letter

Shaolin vs Wutang is a one-on-one casual combat game built as an indie tribute to martial arts and classic Kung Fu films. The developer, J.Bowman, describes it as a passion project made by one person with deep knowledge of 70s and 80s Kung Fu cinema. The goal is not to match big budget fighting games, but to deliver a satisfying experience blended with nostalgia for those classic films. The combat stays grounded with no flashy over the top effects, drawing directly from the style of old Kung Fu movies. Authentic fighting sounds from films and a licensed soundtrack featuring music from classic Kung Fu movies set the tone. The game is in Early Access, released to gather support and feedback from the community to help it reach its full potential.

Playing Together

The core mode is one-on-one combat, and the game supports Local Co-op. Steam lists Remote Play Together as a feature, which lets friends join in over a network. The roster includes 30 inspired characters and 30 stages, with unique moves and combos for every fighter. Combat covers both hand to hand and weapon fighting, with dynamic blocking animations. Each player picks a fighter and a stage, then faces off directly.

Before You Start

This game is aimed at casual fans and is explicitly not intended for hardcore fighting game players. Expect a simpler, more accessible experience rather than the deep systems of a large budget fighter. Since it is in Early Access, the game is still being shaped with community input, so the experience may evolve over time.
