A comic book you steer
Seers Isle is an interactive graphic novel set in a fantasy version of medieval northern Europe. You follow a group of shaman apprentices who land on a sacred island to be initiated into magic. As they push through the wilderness searching for the Seers, their spirit-guides, they find they are not alone. A strange horned woman keeps appearing in their dreams. The story opens with her voice: the island was her prison, and she roamed it for ages looking for a way out until the apprentices arrived. The whole thing is drawn in a European comic book style, and the dialog plays out like reading a comic.
Playing it together
The game supports Remote Play Together, so friends can join in over a session while one person owns it. Since the game is mouse only, everyone can follow along and take part in the choices as the story moves forward. Talk through each decision as a group: your picks shape the mood and personality of the main character and shift her relationships with the rest of the party, so there is plenty to argue about.
Before you start
Each playthrough is a novel-sized adventure, and you only see part of the hundreds of hand-drawn images in one run. Choices lead down different story paths and multiple endings, and you can pick a soulmate among the group to see how that plays out. The soundtrack adapts to your choices and the mood of each scene, so runs feel different as the music shifts. Going back in for a second pass is the point: you will meet other characters, other outcomes, and other sides of the island.
