A brutal twin stick shooter in a ruined world

Scrappage is a top-down twin stick shooter set in a post-apocalyptic future where survivors, mutants, zombies, aliens and robots fight over what is left. You play a character who has just broken free after years of slavery and is now fighting back. The game is a rogue-lite with permadeath: a single moment of carelessness can cost you your life and send you back to the start of your journey. Levels are procedurally generated across nine different themes, so each run throws new layouts and enemy placements at you. You face over 40 different types of enemies and a ruthless boss at the end of each level.

Playing together with friends

Scrappage supports local co-op, so you can sit on the same couch and fight through the hordes together. It also works with Remote Play Together, which lets friends join your session over the internet as if they were sitting next to you. You and your partner share the same run, taking on enemies and bosses side by side. Since death restarts your journey, you will want to coordinate who focuses on which threats and how you spend the scrap you collect between levels.

Building your character as you go

Between levels you collect scrap, which you can spend to buy or upgrade items and body parts. Each new body part you attach grants a powerful active skill, and with hundreds of unique body parts and items available, every run lets you assemble a different build. You also collect XP, which unlocks permanent upgrades that carry across runs. If the difficulty feels steep, an easy mode with automatic aiming is available. The game is optimized to run well and look good even on older hardware, and it supports controller input.
