A robot city full of murder and mischief
Scrapland Remastered is a third-person action-adventure set on a future Earth where only robots remain, and humans are treated as the stuff of nightmares. You play D-Tritus, a newcomer to the city of robots, sent to investigate a string of brutal murders committed by a human who has slipped into town. The investigation runs through more than 140 missions, and along the way you take control of 15 different characters, each with their own personality and abilities. The tone stays light and comic even when the shooting starts, so expect jokes alongside the gunfights.
Flying ships through the city
A big part of the game is your combat ship. You patrol the city in it, and you can work on speed, firepower, countermeasures, maneuverability and resistance to shape the ship the way you like. Flying, shooting and racing all feed into the same loop, so ship handling matters as much as aim. The world is open enough to roam between missions, with the third-person camera keeping you close to the action whether you are on foot as a character or in the cockpit.
Playing together with friends
The SAVAGE multiplayer mode mixes races and battles into one session. You can create your own games or join ones other people have set up, over a local network or online. Since ships are built rather than fixed, the battles and races reflect what each player has put into their craft, so two groups in the same mode can play quite differently depending on the ships showing up. Online play runs on dedicated servers with revised network code.
Before you start
The remaster adds high-resolution modes, full gamepad support, achievements, Steam Cloud support and various in-game improvements over the original release. The single-player campaign is where the story, characters and mission count live, while multiplayer is where the ship building pays off against other people. Going through the campaign first is a practical way to learn how ships handle before jumping into races and battles with a group.
