A war between Rabbits and Pigs
S.W.I.N.E. HD Remaster is a real-time strategy game where the Rabbit and Pig armies fight each other. This is a new edition of the classic game, with revised textures, detailed unit models, support for modern resolutions up to 4K, a 16:9 adapted interface, and an extended zoom. The game includes all patches released since the original. You fight challenging tank battles on both sides across two extensive single-player campaigns with a total of 22 missions. Your army is made up of tanks, scout vehicles, artillery, rocket launchers, and air support. Between missions you choose from a variety of upgrades to improve your units and give them special abilities.
Playing together
The revised multiplayer mode supports battles for up to 8 players, over LAN and over the Internet. Multiplayer is listed as online PvP on Steam, so your group plays against each other rather than against the computer. There is no base building: you assemble your army, plan your approach, and go straight into the fight. That keeps matches focused on positioning, timing, and using the right unit for the job.
Before you start
The game is described as challenging and difficult, and it is aimed at both fans of the original and new players. Missions are called merciless, so expect a real test of your tactics. The remastered edition also comes with extra content: the original soundtrack, an exclusive art book with previously unreleased designs and concept drawings, and a making-of documentary covering the origins of the game and how Kite Games recreated it. The game is moddable.
