A real-time strategy war over food

Tooth and Tail is a Real-Time-Strategy game where you build a base, gather resources, and lead an army of animals into battle. Your forces include flamethrowing Boars, mustard gas-lobbing Skunks, and paratrooper-puking Owls. The goal is simple: eat your enemies. The game uses pixel graphics in an isometric view, and matches are designed to last from 5 to 12 minutes, so each round is quick and focused.

How your group plays together

You can play against each other in Online Competitive Play or gather on the couch with Split Screen. The controls are designed specifically for the gamepad, so it is easy to pick up whether you are a veteran or new to RTS games. Since matches are short, you can rotate players and keep a session going without a long wait between rounds. Replays are included, so you can look back at a match and see how the battle unfolded.

What to know before starting

Maps are procedurally generated and factions are customizable, so no two conflicts play out the same way. You will need to adapt your strategy each round instead of relying on a memorized build order. There is also a Single Player campaign that tells a darkly humorous tale of riots and revolution through the factions known as the Longcoats, the Commonfolk, the KSR, and the Civilized, who are fighting a Civil War over who gets to eat and who has to be the meat.
