Two classic RTS games in one package
Command & Conquer Remastered Collection brings Command & Conquer and Red Alert back in 4K, rebuilt by former Westwood Studios team members at Petroglyph Games. Both games come with all three expansion packs, plus the original console missions now running on PC. You build a base, gather resources, train units and push across an isometric battlefield in real time, with over 100 campaign missions to work through. In solo play you can switch between the legacy graphics and the remastered 4K look in real time, and zoom the camera between the original DOS distance and the Gold distance. The sidebar UI has been redesigned with less scrolling, mouse controls, camera movement, unit queueing and selection have been updated, and hotkeys can be customized to fit how you play.
Playing together
Multiplayer has been rebuilt, with custom game lobbies where you set the rules, teams and maps before the match starts. There are over 250 multiplayer maps to choose from, and you can go head to head in 1v1 Quickmatches and climb the leaderboard. Replays and Observer mode let you watch the whole match back, so nobody has to miss the action. Skirmish mode, new for Tiberian Dawn, lets you take on the AI with controllable difficulty settings when a full lobby isn't an option. The Map Editor is available on both the Origin and Steam versions, and Steam Workshop support means you can create, share and play user maps and mods with the community.
What to know before starting
Expect a lot of content: hours of upscaled full-motion video cinematics with subtitles, a bonus gallery with over 4 hours of B-roll footage, making-of photos and unreleased music tracks, and over 7 hours of remastered music by Frank Klepacki, including 20 tracks re-recorded live with the Tiberian Sons. An enhanced jukebox with playlist support lets you set up your own soundtrack during play. EVA's lines were re-recorded in high definition by the original voice actress for Tiberian Dawn. The game includes quicksave and autosave, in-game tooltips and accessibility features, plus text localization in French, German, Russian, Spanish, Polish, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, with voice-over in English, French and German. Steam achievements, friends lists, Trading Cards and Workshop support round out the package.
