A party brawler built for chaos

Royalty Free-For-All is a 2D platform fighter where classic public domain characters get a modern, hand-drawn makeover. You can play as Lancelot, Mother Goose, or even the Piglet toy that inspired Winnie-The-Pooh. The combat is simplified into LIGHT, STRONG, and SPECIAL attacks that do not require directional inputs, so first-time players can jump straight into the action. The stages, characters, and music are all remixed from the ground up, including tracks like "Punk-Rockabye Baby." Optional visual effects like FILM GRAIN and CEL SHADOW add a fuzzy, nostalgic feel to the colorful, cartoonish art style.

Playing together with your group

The game supports both local and online play. You can enjoy the exciting combos and hilarious interactions together in local multiplayer, or take the fight online using rollback netcode for a smooth experience. For online matches, there is ONLINE QUICKPLAY for fast 1v1 games, and PRIVATE LOBBIES where you can group with up to four friends plus spectators. If you prefer to stay home, you can have a party fit for Gatsby right in your living room. The game also features customizable controls, allowing anyone to set up the button layout they want. Genre veterans can choose from pre-set profiles inspired by the layouts of other platform fighting greats to feel right at home.

Rules and modes before you start

You can enjoy pre-made rulesets or customize your own. PARTY MODE is perfect for friends new to the genre; instead of eliminating players who go out of bounds, it warps them across the screen, preventing disheartening self-destructs. For a more competitive setting, the LEGAL rules run tournament-legal settings and bans casual stages from random selection. Other options include STOCK, TIME, STAMINA, TEAMS, and toggles for ITEMS and RANDOM STAGES. While the simplified combat is easy to pick up, genre veterans will find depth and complexity preserved in familiar mechanics like moonwalking, foxtrotting, and even WAVEDASHING, which has an easy introduction for new players with an optional single-button command.
