What REKT! High Octane Stunts is about

REKT! High Octane Stunts is an arcade driving game set in a retro arena, built around tricks and combos rather than lap times alone. You jump, drift, grind, flip and barrel roll through the arena, chaining stunts together to push your score up. The physics model is tuned so tricks come out smoothly and land easily, which makes the game approachable on the first run, while the scoring system leaves plenty of room to keep refining your lines. Alongside stunt play you get checkpoint races designed for each arena, so the same arena works both as a trick playground and as a race track.

Progress comes from completing challenges. Every time you enter an arena you are handed a set of objectives, with variables that shift their difficulty, so the goals keep changing between runs. Clearing them unlocks new cars, new arenas and customization options.

Playing solo

Two singleplayer modes cover the two moods of the game. HIGH SCORE is the main mode: a timed run in the old-school arcade tradition, where you chase the global leaderboard and find ways to extend the clock as you go. PRACTICE removes the timer entirely, so you can run the same stunt over and over until it lands cleanly. Both modes are where you unlock cars and discover arenas before you take the wheel against other people.

Playing together in a group

Local competitive multiplayer supports up to 4 players in the same arena, and Remote Play Together lets friends join in over a connection. Four modes are on offer. SCORE is a straight contest for the highest score. VIRUS turns the arena into a game of tag: you spread infection by crashing into other players, or you stay clean, and the last car standing wins. CHECKPOINT awards a point to whoever hits the checkpoint first, with 5 points taking the round. CAPTURE THE CROWN gives one player 90 seconds to hold the crown while everyone else tries to take it away.

Before you start

Expect short sessions rather than long campaigns — runs are quick, and the challenge sets change each time you enter an arena. The trick system rewards combining aerial flips, barrel rolls, loops, grinds and drifts instead of repeating a single move, so it pays to experiment early in PRACTICE before chasing scores in HIGH SCORE. The game is easy to learn but hard to master, and the leaderboard is where the harder part shows up.
