A Starship Crewed by Your Friends
PULSAR: Lost Colony is a co-op open-world space sim where each player takes a specific job aboard a starship. The galaxy is randomized and falling into chaos, so every voyage plays out differently. Your crew works together to find the Lost Colony, or you can spend your time delivering biscuits instead. The ship runs on real systems: power must be routed between different components, turrets need gunners, and the warp drive needs an Engineer to bring it online. Combat is fast and tactical, and you can scan enemy vessels for information before deciding to fight or run. Between battles, you investigate abandoned stations, scavenge for components, and loot planets for useful items.
Five Roles, One Ship
The Captain makes the big calls, choosing the route through the galaxy and coordinating the crew. The Pilot flies the ship, dodging debris, positioning for combat, and lining up the next warp jump. The Scientist handles sensor sweeps, ship security, firewall breaches, and research, and provides medical help. The Weapons Specialist runs the lasers, missiles, turrets, and nukes, and is key during boarding actions. The Engineer keeps the ship alive by repairing systems, controlling power flow to avoid overheating, and charging the warp drive. Everyone has a station to run, so communication matters as much as aim.
Away Missions and Ship Boarding
When you reach a planet or station, crew members can teleport down as an away team. Planets have extreme environments and dangerous creatures, so bring the right people. You can also teleport onto other ships to capture them or destroy their systems from the inside. Loot from these trips feeds back into your voyage, giving you components and items that help you survive what comes next.
Modes and Setup
The game supports online co-op for 1 to 5 players, plus an offline singleplayer mode. Customizable AI crew bots fill empty seats in both online and offline play, so a short-handed group can still staff the ship. There are five unique classes, and each one shapes how the voyage unfolds. VR mode with motion controller support is available if you want to play that way.
