A side-scrolling roguelite dungeon crawl
Portal Dungeon is a side-scrolling roguelite adventure from Dusk Dog Studio. You take the role of an adventurer setting out with your friends to find the last portal in this world. The run is built around PvE combat with bullet hell elements, so expect dense enemy fire and bosses with their own fighting styles. There are eight levels in total, and each one brings different maps, monsters, and bosses, which changes how you approach each area.
Playing together online
The game supports single player and up to four players connected online. When you play as a group, you move through the dungeon together and take on the enemies as a team. Each player picks their own adventurer, so a party can mix different characters and their skill sets to cover each other. Going in with friends is the main draw here, since the dungeon gets crowded fast and having more hands on deck helps against the heavier fights.
Choosing a character and building it out
There are over a dozen controllable characters, and each one comes with 1 special attack and 4 skills. Every skill can evolve into 3 variants, so you can shape a character toward the play style you like. On top of that, there are hundreds of items with no cap on how many you can carry, so you do not have to worry about holding too many of one item. You equip items freely and combine them with your character's talents to make your own build. With that much overlap between characters, items, and skill variants, two players can run the same adventurer and still end up with very different setups by the end of a run.
