Real-time dungeon crawling
Pocket Rogues is a 2D action-RPG played entirely in real time. You fight through hordes of monsters in a top-down view, with combat built around precise control: move, dodge, and flank your enemies rather than waiting for turns. The game leans into a difficult, souls-like feel where player skill decides the fight. Runs take you through dozens of procedurally generated dungeons, so locations, monsters, loot, and random encounters change every descent. Distinct areas bring their own visual style, enemies, traps, and interactive objects, and you can move freely between any location you have unlocked. Bosses wait at the deep end of these runs and each one is meant to be a real challenge.
Playing together
Pocket Rogues supports Online Co-op and Remote Play Together, so you can raid dungeons alongside friends instead of going in alone. Each player develops their own hero, and the variety of hero classes means a group can mix different skills, specialized equipment, and development trees while pushing through a run together. Since every dungeon is generated fresh, two groups playing the same location will still see different layouts, enemies, and loot.
Guild Fortress and progression
Progress carries beyond a single run through your Guild Fortress. Constructing and upgrading buildings there unlocks and enhances new heroes and opens up new game mechanics, giving you reasons to return between descents. Character progression and exploration sit alongside the roguelike loop, so your heroes grow over time even as each dungeon resets. The game is in Early Access and has been actively supported with regular updates shaped by community input, so expect the experience to keep changing as development continues.
