What Pierhead Arcade 2 is

Pierhead Arcade 2 is a VR arcade simulator from Mechabit, the sequel to the original Pierhead Arcade. You get a pier arcade with unlimited tokens, so there's no reason to hold back on any machine. The core of it is over 30 arcade games that are driven by physics rather than canned animations, which means you're physically grabbing, throwing, rolling and aiming your way through each one. The games are spread across three rooms, with a fourth room available as DLC. Owners of Pierhead Arcade 1 get that extra room for free. The game is in Early Access, so expect it to keep changing as development continues.

Playing together

You can play on your own or join friends through online or LAN multiplayer, so a group split across the internet or sitting on the same network can share the arcade. Everyone picks a room, works through the machines, and stacks up tickets from their runs. Those tickets go to the gift shop, where more than 30 toys are waiting, so there's a shared reason to keep playing rounds and comparing what you cash in. It's a casual setup: no teams to organise, no objectives to coordinate, just a room full of machines and whoever shows up.

Before you start

A VR headset is required, and all major VR headsets are supported. You'll want enough space to move your arms freely, since the games are physics based and rely on your actual gestures rather than button presses. Avatar customisation is available with over 500 combinations, so each of you can look different in the room. The game is tagged as sandbox and simulation alongside arcade, which fits how it plays: it's a space to mess around in as much as a set of games to beat.
