What PBA Pro Bowling 2021 is
PBA Pro Bowling 2021 is a bowling simulation officially licensed by the Pro Bowlers Association. It includes 26 of the top pros playing today, so you can bowl as your favorite PBA pro rather than only as a created player. Commentary comes from the TV broadcast team of Rob Stone and hall-of-famer Randy Pedersen, which gives matches the feel of a televised broadcast. The game offers two ways to play: an authentic simulation mode with realistic lane behavior, or an explosive arcade style if you want something looser and more over the top. You pick whichever suits the mood of the session.
Playing together
Online play covers head-to-head matches and tournaments, so a group can compete against each other over the internet. There is also local multiplayer for up to four players on the same setup, and Remote Play Together lets friends join in remotely. On top of the multiplayer options, the PBA Career mode is a deep single-player experience with over 100 tournaments, and stepladder finals have been added to those tournaments for a proper tournament finish structure.
Lane physics and equipment
The 2021 version improved ball and pin physics, and lane physics now include oil pattern breakdown and carry-down. That means the lane condition changes as frames go by, so the oil moves and your line to the pocket may need adjusting mid-match. There are over 150 balls to choose from and earn, including 40 new balls from the top manufacturers used on the PBA Tour. Andrew Anderson was added to the roster for this release.
Before you start
Decide as a group whether you want the realistic simulation or the arcade style, since the two play very differently. If you are playing online, note that head-to-head is the mode built for direct competition between friends. Career mode is a solo commitment with a long tournament schedule, so it is better suited to one person playing on their own while others watch or wait.
