Designing your own ships

Particle Fleet: Emergence is a real-time strategy game where you build and design your own fleets. Your ships are partially destructible and self-repair, so damage matters and repairs are part of the plan. The enemies are not driven by scripted logic; instead they come from a real-time massive physics particle simulation, which means the Particulate behaves like a moving, engulfing threat rather than a fixed wave pattern. You play as Chief Executive Ticon, who should have been the Galactic Executive Officer but isn't, leading a small corporation of dedicated employees into Redacted Space.

Playing together

The game is tagged as singleplayer, so the core experience is you commanding your fleet on your own. Remote Play Together is listed as a Steam feature, which lets someone join in remotely. The game includes a level editor, so you can build your own scenarios to run through.

Before you start

Expect a hybrid of physics, strategy, RTS, and fleet management rather than a standard tower defense setup. The tag list includes Real-Time with Pause, so you can pause the action to think through your moves. You will face the Particulate, Emergent, Doppels, and more, and the game asks you to adapt your tactics as the threat surrounds and engulfs. It is a 2D pixel-art sci-fi game with a soundtrack noted among its tags.
