Fighting through Okinawa
Okinawa Rush is a 2D action platformer with pixel-art cut-scenes telling the story of Hiro, Meilin, or Shin as they take on the Black Mantis clan. Each of the three martial arts masters has their own moves, and the fighting engine covers combos, juggles, and an intuitive parry system that works on attacks, projectiles, and traps. Weapons include swords, nunchakus, and bo staffs, and the enemy roster brings ninjas, demons, and more, each with a distinct moveset and weapon. Boss battles cap things off, and there are secrets and hidden areas to find along the way. An arcade mode lets you jump straight into the action, and high scores can be uploaded to compete globally.
Playing with a friend
The game has a 2-player local co-op mode, so a friend can join you against the ninjas, demons, and everything else in between. Healing each other is part of how you get through it together. Remote Play Together is also supported, which lets a friend join over the internet as if they were sitting next to you.
Before you start
Controls depend on how many people are playing. Solo, you can use the keyboard, though those bindings are not mappable, or a pad, where you can change the controls. With two players, controllers are recommended, and there is no support for two people sharing the same keyboard.
