What Oh...Sir!! The Insult Simulator is
This is a turn-based insult battler from Vile Monarch, built as a 2D pixel-art comedy game. You assemble insults out of word strings and throw them at your opponent, then defend yourself when the same happens to you. The battle system has combos, criticals, continuations and other mechanics, so picking the right piece of the phrase matters more than mashing. There are four conflict scenarios with different environments to play your verbal jujitsu across.
The cast is 11 playable characters, each with their own voice, traits and pool of insult components. Along the way you can unlock guest fighters, including Lo Wang from Shadow Warrior, Serious Sam and the Postal Dude. The writing leans into absurd pairings: a grunting sow, a retired hipster, a fake Russian using a dead body as a table, and a grumpy old lady with a story about her husband's donated organs.
Playing it with friends
Real-Life Friends Mode is the couch option: everyone sits around and takes turns insulting each other locally. Imaginary-Friends Mode takes the same battles online, and the game supports cross-platform multiplayer, so people on different devices can still face off. Remote Play Together is available, which lets someone join your session over the internet even if they do not have the game.
If nobody is around, the Loner's Insult Tournament Mode sends you through a series of unique situations against CPU opponents. The singleplayer tag covers that path, and the multiplayer tags cover the local and online modes, so the game works either way.
Before you start
The humor is crude by design: the insult components are the whole point, and the store listing tags the game with nudity alongside comedy and fighting. Expect the jokes to be blunt rather than clever-clever, and expect the same treatment to come back at you when it is the other side's turn.
It is a short-form, round-based game rather than something with a long campaign, and the variety comes from the characters, scenarios and unlockable heroes you work through. Pick a mode, pick a character, and start trading phrases.
