A military hacking simulation
NITE Team 4 puts you in the role of an elite cyber warfare agent in a military task force. The game explores cyberwarfare through realistic mission scenarios, and version 1.0 includes more than 70 missions and operations split into different categories. The four main operations are fully voice acted: you track down suspects on the dark web, infiltrate networks, and coordinate drone strikes. Alongside the campaign you can take bounties from intelligence agencies around the world — NSA, CIA, GCHQ, CSIS, MSS, GRU and others — through hourly, daily, and weekly world drops. With more than 20 bounties, you choose who to help and build a reputation that unlocks rare and epic bounties.
Learning the tools
The academy is the starting point for anyone new to this. Through multiple training certificates you are taught real-life cybersecurity techniques and modules: information gathering, port scanning, fingerprinting, exploit research, attack strategy, digital forensics and more. It is designed to be accessible even if you have never used a terminal in your life. Beyond the academy, monthly open world missions blend the game with real-life objectives and resources — online research, fake websites, cellphones and more — extending the game into an alternate reality layer.
Playing with friends
Online Co-op is supported, so you and your friends can work through missions together rather than solo. The bounty system gives a group a shared decision to make: which agency to help, and how to spend the reputation you earn toward rarer jobs. The Goliath-7 upgrade platform adds another thing to coordinate, since its upgrades increase your Stinger OS capacity across CPU, proxy, database and software categories — CPU boosts modules like Password Attack, proxy upgrades raise the number of servers you can use to speed up scanning networks, database upgrades allow bigger xkeyscore requests, and software upgrades add new modules and mechanics. Upgrades can be permanent or temporary and range from common to legendary, so a group can plan around who carries which upgrades.
Before you start
Expect a mix of structured content and ongoing live material: the main campaign, the academy, bounties, and monthly open world missions all run alongside each other. Bounties tied to Goliath-7 upgrades appear across open-world, academy, and main campaign content. The developers describe an active indie team reachable on Steam and Discord, rolling out player-created servers and factions, new campaigns, and open world and bounty systems as the game develops.
