Running the store

My Supermarket is a third-person simulation game where you own a supermarket in the middle of the city. The work is hands-on: order products and have them delivered, pull what you need from the warehouse, and restock the shelves so customers always find what they came for. Serving matters too — keep an eye on the cash register and don't leave people waiting too long, or they get unhappy. Cleanliness is part of the job as well, since some customers throw trash on the floor and others walk in with dirty shoes. A clean, well-stocked, fast store keeps customers coming back, and returning customers are where the profit comes from.

Growing the business

Money and reputation drive the run. As reputation climbs, more products open up for you to stock, so keeping both reputation and bank balance positive is the core loop. You can buy new objects from a catalog and place them however you like — rotate, align, arrange — from plain fixtures needed to sell goods to slot machines, frames, plants and more. Your supermarket, your rules. When the workload gets heavy, hire staff and put them to work for you.

Playing with friends

You can run the store solo or as part of a team of up to 4 people. Invite friends into your lobby and split the duties — one person on deliveries and the warehouse, another on restocking, someone else on the register and cleanup. The store can get too big for one person, and a group makes the day-to-day much more manageable. Expect events along the way: customers who steal, customers in a hurry, and a bus that dumps several eager shoppers into the store at once, all wanting products and service. The store text also notes you can hit each other, so there is room for messing around between the chores.

Before you start

This is Early Access, so the game is still being developed and things can change. It is tagged as family friendly and covers economy, capitalism, inventory and resource management, so the appeal is planning, layout and keeping a business running smoothly rather than combat. Expect a steady multitasking rhythm: order, deliver, stock, serve, clean, expand, hire.
